From Press Release
Country music sensations THE FAMOUS HAYDELL SISTERS make music history at Toronto Fringe!
It’s country music the way you wish you remembered it. Think “Spinal Tap” meets “Coalminer’s Daughter” meets “Thelma and Louise.” If you love country music you’ll love this satirical comeback concert. If you hate country music, you’ll ESPECIALLY love this satirical comeback concert!
Mattie and Maybelle Haydell were on top of the world as teen queen superstars of the country music business back in the early ’90s. Best remembered for classic hits like “Seven Seconds (Too Short a Ride),” “Wrangler Butt” and “Your Broken Heart (Is No Excuse To Be An Asshole),” their meteoric career took a swandive when their last record flopped in 1993, amid personal turmoils influenced by major world events and exacerbated by the pressures of fame. Superfans worldwide feared the day would never come when these sisters, estranged from each other to tabloid proportions, would reunite onstage, but at long last America’s country sweethearts are lifting their voices in famous harmony–for the first time since 1993!
