The Second City presents its 64th revue…
SHUT UP AND
SHOW US YOUR TWEETS!
Toronto: World class city or whiney little baby? With a summer full of strikes and strife, Toronto is in need of some serious fresh air. Our councilors, companies and unions have been flipping us the bird for months. It’s time we tweeted back. So on Tuesday September 29th the Second City tells Toronto to Shut up and Show Us Your Tweets! As we premiere our 64th revue.
It’s time for some fresh satirical comedy, and this aggressive cast of writer/actors is ready to take on the politics of Parliament, the boardroom and the bedroom. Meet the next generation: Adam Cawley, Dale Boyer, and Rob Baker; three powerhouse improvisers, who have written, performed and toured together for years in The Second City’s Touring Company. This hard working dynamic trio joins veterans Darryl Hinds, Reid Janisse and Caitlin Howden under the direction of Second City Alumni Sandy Jobin-Bevans. Here’s the math on this show: New energy + Experienced excellence + Young gifted director = The Very Best in Second City Comedy. Numbers don’t lie.
The Second City is celebrating 35 riotous years in Toronto. This fall, The Second City will also be celebrating an incredible landmark 50 years in Chicago. But hey, age is just a number. From Tony Award Winner Bob Martin and Emmy Award Winner Tina Fey, to late night talk show hero Stephen Colbert, The Second City remains a major presence in pop culture. Shut up and Show Us Your Tweets! is the latest and freshest chapter in this satirical legacy.
