The Grapes of Khan – Toronto Fringe 2011 Press Release

From press release

High reference.  Lowbrow.
Enjoy a perfect blend of stupid, funny and smart.

What if Lou Gehrig got heckled? What was Franz Kafka’s Senior Prom like? What becomes of a man who hears the same jokes at work everyday for 40 years?  Jape Presents: The Grapes of Khan answers these questions – questions you’ve probably never asked – using the highest art form known to man: sketch comedy.

Jape is a critically acclaimed and award-winning troupe comprised of Aaron Hagey-MacKay, Adam McNamara, Simon Pond and Eric Turk. They have honed their craft in front of the notoriously skeptical audiences of Toronto’s comedy community. They have produced shows as official selections in international sketch comedy festivals in Toronto, Montreal and Chicago. They have a passion for creating shows that have nothing to do with their titles.

Now Jape is making their debut to a theatre-going audience with Jape Presents: The Grapes of Khan at the Toronto Fringe Festival. The show is a premise-based mélange, performed the way a fine wine tastes. With a rich blend of oaky undertones, followed by a peppery citrus splash, their humour lingers in the back of your throat as only their tightly written dick jokes can. Will four 20-something men in nice suits make you laugh harder than anyone else at the Fringe?

Yes. Will those four twenty-something men in nice suits be Jape? Probably.
