The Book of Mormon. Ed Mirvish Theatre. by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone (Mirvish). Two naive missionaries go to a volatile region in Uganda in this religious satire musical. Opens Jun 11 and runs to Jun 23, Tue-Sat 8 pm, Sat 2 pm. $35-$200.
The Lion King. Princess of Wales Theatre. by Tim Rice, Elton John, Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi (Mirvish). The circle of life returns to Toronto in this musical based on the Disney film. Opens Jun 13 and runs to Aug 4, Tue-Sat 7:30 pm, Sun 6:30 pm, mat Sat 1 pm, Sun 2 pm. $99-$250.
Obeah Opera. Fleck Dance Theatre. by Nicole Brooks (Asah Productions/Luminato). Rhythmic a cappella retelling of the Salem witch trials, from the perspective of the Caribbean slave women who experienced it. Jun 13-22, Tue-Sat 8 pm, Sun 2 pm. $36 & up.

The Cave. Young Centre for the Performing Arts. Luminato Festival and the Cave Collective present an apocalyptic cabaret by John Millard, Tomson Highway and Martha Ross. A forest fire rages as a group of animals escape to the safety of The Cave. An entertaining cabaret that responds to our changing environment, created by John Millard, Tomson Highway and Martha Ross. Switch: The Village. Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Queer Pride 2019 and the Switch Collective present a performance that travels through the village exploring queer history and futures in the city. Jun 18-20 at 9 pm. $21.
Hell’s Fury, The Hollywood Songbook. Harbourfront Centre Theatre. (Soundstreams/Luminato). Russell Braun portrays Hanns Eisler, one of Europe’s most gifted mid-century composers, in this musical theatre production. Jun 19-23, Wed-Sat 7 pm, Sun 2 pm. $45 & up.
The Merry Widow. Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The National Ballet of Canada presents choreography by Ronald Hynd based on the operetta by Franz Lehár. Jun 19-23, Wed-Sat 7:30 pm, mat Thu, Sat-Sun 2 pm. $40 & up.
Flowers For Kazuo Ohno (And Leonard Cohen) Bluma Appel Theatre. Luminato Festival and La Compañía Cuerpo de Indias present an homage to the Japanese dancer and Canadian singer-songwriter. Jun 19-22, Wed-Sat 8 pm. $45 & up.

Circus Sessions 2019. Toronto Centre for the Arts. Femmes du Feu present its annual residency featuring innovative performances by national and international circus artists, including acrobats, dancers, aerialists and more. Jun 21-29, Fri-Sat 8 pm. $15.
Distant Early Warning. Queer Pride 2019 presents a drag concert extravaganza starring tragicomedienne Pearle Harbour. Jun 21 at 8 pm. $15-$20.
Psychosis. The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance. Ronald Taylor Dance presents a dance showcase. Jun 21-22 at 8 pm. $20.
Summer Dances. Xing Dance Studio. Simon Ballet presents the music of Bizet’s Carmen, performed with Spanish influence in grand style. Jun 22 at 8 pm. $20, stu/srs $15.
For part two, the audience is introduced to 19.06.21 of the prominent choreographer Xing Bang Fu. For the final piece piece. Simon Sylvain Lalonde remounts his masterwork, The Four Seasons, showcasing mesmerizing and dynamic style.
Triptych (Eyes of One On Another) Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Luminato Festival presents a multidisciplinary performance by Bryce Dessner, in collaboration with librettist Korde Arrington Tuttle and director Kaneza Schaal (ArKtype / Thomas O. Kriegsmann).
The performance explores photographer Robert Mapplethorpe’s uncanny ability to make the viewer question commonly held beliefs on race, gender and politics. Jun 22 at 8 pm. $35 & up.
