Fringe for Free – The Emergency Monologues 9:15pm

contest-web-graphic EYE gives this one 4 stars, but warns it is “not for the squeamish.”  I know that I couldn’t handle this one, I can’t deal with when someone tells me about how they cut themselves while chopping onions, so, I’ll be honest, this one would probably have me squirming in my seat.  That said, if you are okay with that kind of thing, apparently The Emergency Monologues is a hilarious show.

Win yourself this pair of tickets, and then let us know what you thought.  Did the funny outstrip the squeamish?  To enter the draw for the pair of free tickets, all you need to do is leave a comment* sometime before 7:00pm Today (Thursday) at the George Ignatieff Theatre (Venue 10, 15 Devonshire Place).

Fringe For Free – Dante, Thursday July 9, 7:45

contest-web-graphic I’ve heard really good things about Dante, and I spoke to someone involved with the production on the patio at the Fringe club and it sounds like a really interesting show.  In case this kind of thing influences you, it got 4 stars from EYE.  It really does sound like something to check out.

As is our way with the ‘Fringe for Free’ section of Mooney on Theatre, we have a pair of tickets available for tonight’s 7:45 showing of Dante, playing at the Factory Studio Theatre (Venue 6 – 125 Bathurst St).

As always, to enter the draw, all you need to do is leave a comment* sometime before 5:30pm Today (Thursday).

Fringe for Free – The Fecal Monologues, Wednesday July 8 11pm

contest-web-graphic I know a lot of people are trepidations about this one, but from what I’ve heard it’s actually pretty funny.  As Crystal said in the Mooney on Theatre review of this show: “Any play called The Fecal Monologues is going to be 60 minutes of scatological humour. Know that, accept that, and then you can just sit back and enjoy the jokes.  And I did.”

So, in the sprit of Fringe, where part of the point is that it’s all short enough and cheap enough that you can take a risk on something, I think you should check this one out.  Especially if you can do it for free, with, say, a pair of free tickets from Mooney on Theatre.

To win your pair of free tickets to The Fecal Monologues at The Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse (Venue 11 – 79A St. George St) on Wednesday July 8 at 11:00pm

To enter the draw, all you need to do is leave a comment* sometime before 8:30pm Wednesday.

Fringe for Free – Moving Along, Wednesday July 8, 9:15

contest-web-graphic Apparently we’re featuring contests of shows that have performed well in the (sometimes questioned – but hopefully not in this case) EYE star rating system.

Moving Along received 4 stars from EYE for keeping “the laughs coming almost to the end, creating a comic character both vividly realized and suitably mysterious.”

To win your pair of free tickets to Moving Along at Tarragon Mainspace (Venue 7 – 30 Bridgman Ave) on Wednesday July 8 at 6:00pm.  Head on over and have some fun!

To enter the draw, all you need to do is leave a comment* sometime before 7:15pm Wednesday.
